Challenges help us put our values into perspective. If we hope for the next generation to be brave, honest, accountable and resilient, we ourselves are to practice those values— in every circumstance.
I’ve been back in the classroom for a few days now, and it is with fresh eyes that I remember my role. In many ways, we are not here to show children that life is perfect— but rather that in spite of setbacks, we always move forward, and take pride in the values that define us.
Thanks to everyone who touched base with me in these past two weeks. As our community returns to a semblance of normalcy, I celebrate the people who encourage, uplift, and bring strength.
